2008 AWARD RECIPIENTS

The following individuals will receive awards during the Awards Luncheon on Saturday,  September 20:
Dr. Ralph Feigin, Houston, is the recipient of the TPS Charles W. Daeschner, Jr, MD Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest Award of the Texas Pediatric Society.  Dr. Feigin, current Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, has trained more than 2,000 pediatricians and pediatric specialists. In addition to his administrative achievements at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine and service to his community, Dr. Feigin is a tireless advocate of children’s health and welfare.
Dr. Molly Droge, formerly of Dallas/currently of Kansas City, is the recipient of the TPS Sidney Kaliski Award of Merit in recognition of her many and continuing contributions to the TPS and the children of Texas.  She has held many positions within the TPS including President and Chapter Chair (our chief liaison with the AAP).  She has been a tireless advocate for both the Society, its members and the children of Texas for many years and continues to do so.
Dr. Donald Murphey, Fort Worth, is the recipient of the TPS Executive Board Award for his outstanding service to the pediatric community in Texas in the collection and publishing of RSV data on the TPS website.  Dr. Murphey serves as a member of the TPS Committee on Infectious Diseases.
Ms. Rose M. Orsborn, San Antonio, is the recipient of the TPS Distinguished Service Award for her outstanding lifetime career advocating for abused and neglected children.  She has held many positions within Child Protective Services as a caseworker, supervisor, program director and regional director and more recently served as Director of Center for Miracles, a Pediatric Center of Excellence.
